Bamboo Dinosaur Utensils!

I was just searching and found something very fun! Dinosaur Utensils made out of bamboo! These fun things are called "Bamdinos". I would use these all the time! First and most importantly, these utensils are made out of bamboo and are reusable = Green Fun. Bamdinos are made out of 100% organic bamboo and natural cashew lecquer which is very safe to the touch. Second, they are shaped like Dinosaurs! I still have fond memories of my obsession with Jurassic Park, they make eating fun and give kids at a younger age a small bit of knowledge on going green!

In this Shidler College of Business, there is a big poster of Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web. As I was searching through TED.com I came across a new video they posted featuring him and his vision for the future of the Web. Check out innovation at its finest.

"Artist Henrique Oliveiraa was a student in São Paulo, Brazil when the plywood fence outside his window began to peel and fade into different layers and colors. The wood, called tapumes in Portuguese is ubiquitous in the Brazilian city, serving as enclosures and barriers for various sites. When the fence was dismantled, Oliveira harvested the remains and used them as materials for his senior show. The result propelled him into his current work: undulating, swirling, bulging peels of wood layered onto hallways and walls in daunting forms. His most recent show will be called, fittingly, Tapumes." (inhabitat.com)

Innovation comes in all forms, you just need to look at the world in a different way. Take a step back and just embrace all the different features in the world and be inspired!

Foldable Shelters

Sorry I have been soooo M.I.A!!! But I am back with an inspiration from a good friend of mine, Vance Arakaki! He showed me an innovation that China had done when dealing with the earthquakes. There were so many people without homes and shelter, something needed to be done to help solve this horrible problem. They created foldable shelters made out of bamboo. Amazing ya? How will you help solve a problem with innovation?

The leather upper parts are made from old, landfill-bound check book wallets, and the soles from used car tires. these are hot!

I just read about New Holland's prototype of an incredible innovation; it is the New Holland NH2. The NH2 is a tractor based on their 76000 line of tractors, but the incredible aspect is that it is fueled by an hydrogen fuel cell. This caught my eye for a couple of reasons; 1- its an amazing innovation towards a greener future, 2- they are using fuel cells which is what Dustin Shindo started Hoku Scientific with (he is a big inspiration of mine), and 3- it just looks cool!

These are some pictures and it is still a prototype, but they are looking to commercialize it in as close to as 3 years out from now. It eliminates all diesel use and the exhaust pipe all current tractors have. There are zero emissions and there is only a little amount of water, in the form of stream, that is produced by the Fuel Cell System.

People are drawn to Newson for his extremely innovative, creative and inspiring pieces that are truly one of a kind. This is a clip from the "Imagine" series, but it is part 3 of 5.
